How do I set up an alert so that I see new Yahoo Questions about certain keywords?

I’m an expert in the niche field of door mats, safety matting and floor coverings. I want to be able to answer questions on these topics, but I don’t have time to be searching Yahoo Questions every day. Can I set it up to “alert” me by email?

Yahoo Answers does not have an ‘alert’ system like that. However, here is something you can do. Click the ‘advanced’ link to the right of the ‘Search’ button. Type in your keyword, narrow down by category if you wish. Select for OPEN questions only and don’t use the ‘last 7 days’ option (it’s broken). Click Search. Now, find the RSS link/feed/button. Use that to post the results to another page of yours that will do RSS feeds (like My Yahoo) — and it should give you updated questions that way.

This method will give you alerts through either text message or email:
1) On the main page of Yahoo Answers in the search box or in Advanced Search, type your keywords (in Advanced Search you can set what not to include and other things that you might want the system to search for)
2) Scroll down to the bottom of the page where you can find the ‘add to my yahoo’ and the orange RSS button
3) Right-click on the orange RSS button and copy the link location
4) Go to this Yahoo Alerts link and paste the URL you just copied?.done=http://alerts.yahoo.com/myalerts.php
5) Select the methods to be notified (you can select your yahoo email or any other email, or your phone for a SMS alert)
